Terri Tate is funny.
She has been to hell and back, returning to recount harrowing,
hilarious tales of her trip. A nationally recognized speaker,
successful therapist, hypnotherapist and consultant, Terri was
silenced by oral cancer in 1991. Doctor’s said she had a
2% chance of surviving the disease that cost her more than half
of her tongue and lower jaw, as well as a variety of significant
body parts used in failed reconstructions attempts. Not only has
she survived cancer and reclaimed her voice, Terri has honed her
storytelling skills and brims with passion to inspire others with
her stories. Her keynotes and performances offer profound wisdom
packaged in warm wit. Audiences are moved to tears and laughter,
hope and healing by her powerful presence.
Terri hopes that lessons learned along her healing journey will
shed light on the path for others. During the darkest nights of
her ordeal, Terri discovered a process for tapping into intuitive
guidance. She now teaches that process to individuals and groups
who face challenges, to facilitate finding their unique route
to their preferred future. She offers support to cancer patients
and others attempting to navigate the plethora of healing options
available today.
The story goes that Terri wanted to be a nurse before she could
talk. She never waivered from that career choice. Much of Terri’s
consulting work has been with health care providers and systems.
Having now spent more time than she ever wanted to in the patient
role, Terri is better equipped than ever to speak to providers
on what patients need and the creation of a healing environment
for patients and providers alike.
Witnessing the way that Terri has come through her ordeal--her
speech and appearance surgically altered; her spirit and innate
desire to serve stronger than ever--shows her audiences that they
can overcome their own obstacles with grace and humor. Terri Tate
has earned the title Inspirational Humorist.
